Thyme Travellers On the Road
Day 21 - Mon 9 April - Lake Wardell to Wanaka
It was cooler this morning as we set off. We noted new dairy farms up in the high country. Such a contrast to the sheep stations. Huge irrigators stretching across huge paddocks and big sheds for the cows versus irrigation ditches and the station's own water reservoir to feed them. We stopped for photos in the Lindis Pass and found wild apples and pears as well as a young couple from Houston spending their honeymoon in NZ. We parked down on the waterfront to have our lunch - there are lots of tourists still in Wanaka. Our campsite for the next couple of days is tucked in behind the Wanaka District Club and we went up to the bar for 4zees today.
