Hello Everyone :)
Even though I was in Alicante almost a week ago, better late than never!
So my 3rd stop of the trip was in Alicante which is on the south east cost of Spain.
After getting 1hrs sleep and hopping on the bus at 830am in Barcelona I arrived in Alicante later that day after all day on the bus. I stayed 3 nights there and stayed at a good time because Alicante´s biggest festival was on the whole time I was there. I forgot the name of the festival but it was a cool experience.
Since the festival was on, the city was packed all day and night with locals and Tourists! Most of the tourists are poms because they fly over for the weekends because its only a 2 hr flight from London.
The festival was really cool, but I guess a little random at the same time, There were these huge paper mache structures built in random spots all through out the city and some were 8m high they were huge, you should see the photos! On the last day of the festival they would burn all the structures bar one as they pick 1 thats the winner then they burn the rest.
Also each day there would be 2 parades on the main st that lasted hours and everyone packed the street to see all the locals dressed up in traditional Spanish clothes.
There is so much to describe but I would be typing forever.
The city itself is really nice with heaps of coblestone streets and lots of old buildings, not to mention the main beach which is always packed! One thing that was also cool about the city was the castle on the top of the cliff and You can get a elavater to the top and it has hektik views of the city and surroundings.
Alicante had a sik nightlife with a good choice of Bars and Clubs.
One thing that was neat was at night all the locals all pack the beach and mingle and get crunk! Its awesome how chill everyone is here and heaps people drink on the streets at night and in the day aswell!
I think that should cover most of my 3 night stay in Alicante my next stop is Sevilla so watch this space for that blog update.
Thanks for reading once again! I miss you all and stay safe
Regards,
Andrew
