The internet is free at our hostel in Prague so thought id keep you updated with my adventures before I head off into the unknown...well to Vienna tomorrow but never know when I shall next be on!
Today we had a free day so took the chance for a bit of a lie in and left our hostel at 10.30 to see what Prague had to offer. As soon as we left the hostel we encountered our first difficulty, the tram stop wasnt working! There were lots of police outside with long mirrors checking for either drugs or bombs under cars...we took that as a sign to move well away and found some Canadian guys to walk us to the Metro station! After somehow translating the Czech language we got off at the right stop and headed towards the old town where the changing of the guards were due to take place. We had our pics taken with a guard one the way, which I was pretty suprised we were allowed to do so...didnt think that they would be very friendly! But seeing as he wasnt allowed to talk to use we had to use blink-code to see if it was okay to take his pic and then come stand next to him...and BINGO it worked!!! After that exciting time we headed to the palace to see the guards and then headed across Charles Bridge...here if you rubbed a statue then you were destined to come back to Prague...we rub rub rubbed away ha ha! It is nice here, would definetly recommend a weekend away as the buildings are beautiful, lots of palaces and cathedrals. The final part of the day before dinner we checked out the amazing 'astronomical clock' which is rather lame! People crowd around to see it chime on the hour and pretty much a big disappointment.
Well must dash, Czech beer to be drank.....
