Hi!

We´ve arrived in Cusco, finally! Had a long journey to get here! We left early Saturday morning for our flight from Miami international, which got us in to Lima at 2130, then spent the night in the airport waiting for our connecting flight to Cusco at 0600 this morning! When we arrived, we discovered they´re having a bit of a downpour, and it´s freezing!!!! We´ve invested in some good, warm waterproofs! We met 2 people at the airport who we travelled with to the centre of Cusco, and we checked into our hostel which is lovely!

One of the first things we have noticed is that we are having difficulty with our breathing!! Our hearts are racing and our breathing is quite shallow, but we should acclimatise over the next couple of days.

We have our 4 daytrek to Machu Pichu booked for Wednesday, so excited for that! Hopefully we won´t get hit by altitude sickness, but apparently it´s a bit pot luck! Doesn´t matter how fit you are, anyone can get it.
