hey everybody!!!
just to clarify for my mum and rob...tigers were not drugged,(its run by buddist) there jst very hot and dosile in the day time!
ok...just got back from a absolutly PHENOMINAL 3 days... JUNGLE TREKKING!!!!
we left on the wednesday morning and headed straight for the jungle norht west of chaing mai.... we knew we were going to be walking we jsut didnt know how much walking would be involved!!!!
we walked for an hour until we reached a cave on the top of a hill, we stopped refreshed and had lunch(pad thai and fruit) we continued on our walk until we reached a hill tribe... the laoh... they live in wooden building s, have chickesns running around and literally are in the middle of nowhere. we didnt stop for long, enough time to have a drink and look around! we continued walking in our group..9 of us and another group of 9..! we had 2 and a half hours left unitl we reached our destination..the long neck hill tribe! the walk was blooodyyy hard, very strenuous and involved many hills! i cant describe how hard the walk was and was easily one of the most excrutating things we have ever done especailly in 40degree heat!!!
arrived at the tribe at 4, relaxed in our jungle hut, and had lunch at 6, we chatted(as much as we could...hello, thankyou,.. how r u) to the tribe and had a camp fire! the women have long necks because they thinkgs it beacutiful. the longer your neck the more beautiful u r considered...the wire coils increase and stretch the size of the womans necks!! we then put a pig on the fire, roasted it and ate it...YUMM!!
day 2 ..involved more walking...bloody hard but soo fulfilling when u do it. we wlaked for 4 hours and reached a lovely view point and walked down to the third tribe the PALONG. here we bathed and swam in there stream and then relaxed unitl 6 when we had dinner. we then had another camp fire this time though was really fun and we sang danced and played instruemnts with the hill tribe! they were soo fun and the atmosophere was awesome!
day 3 we rode and elephant...yet again scary!!! there soo tall and when they walk up and down hills its petrifying!!!! we walked thru rivers with them and then back to the camp were we had lunch and then set off for white water rafting and bamboo rafting!!!
all in all a wonderful expericne, one i wil never forget!! it was totally out of this world, the walking was hard but fun, the tribes were so diverse, friendly and welcoming and the elphant and water activites were wkd!! we stunk, didnt shower for 3 days and had to go to the toilet in a hole...all part of the fun!!!!
we made up a song on the white water rafting...
'' were team, team, team extreme!
were fit were firesty and were mean
for white water rafting we r keen!
were team team team extreme!!!!''
were now back in chaing mai, chilling out and recovering and were off 2 Pai on monday!
