It's now been 1 month & 1 day since we left and this means only a month to go of traveling.
We are LOVING the warm weather and are very very reluctant reluctant to head south - Coral Bay is our last stop before we once again find ourselves south of the Tropic of Capricorn - to those not aware of what this means it equals the weather getting colder!!!!
The past couple of weeks have been pretty magical - beaches, gorges and more beaches - I even caught a fish!!!!!! Apparently a pretty decent sized rankin cod that my husband and uncle assure me was at least 60cm in size!! I just thought it was pretty ugly looking but it tasted ok after Anthony turned a pretty ugly looking specimen into some very nice looking fillets.
The Cape Range National Park is STUNNING and is definitely on a must return to list as is Coral Bay.
Will had a fantastic birthday at Pardoo Station and is still loving his swag and the pocket knife mum & dad gave him. Baking a big birthday cake on the road was a challenge but ended up a success and he proudly shared his cake with all and sundry including all his new found stockmen friends who let him operate the hydraulic cattle crusher and tag a few head of cattle.
Life becomes so much more simple - 'clean clothes' are rated very differently after having traversed so much red dirt and even after washing them you sometimes wonder if there was any point in having done so.
Regardless, every day has been an experience! Suzy the car and Mal the van haven't missed a beat and are both coping extraordinarily well with everything we have thrown at them. The boys are loving the variety of experiences and whilst they miss their mates they have also started to develop a special relationship with each other - both are braver when they are together and although still arguing - they are slowly starting to enjoy each other's company.
We are currently in Coral Bay camping sans power, and it is absolutely stunning here! The town is exactly what a coastal town should be and reminds me very much of what Torquay used to be like before it became so commercialised. I hope it remains the same for years to come!
Tomorrow we will again hit the beach, feed the fish and perhaps try a spot more fishing, however, this time I will endeavor to not catch the biggest fish - gotta let the others have a chance to.
Must try and run through those questions again to see how perceptions have changed since we left.
Take Care
Love H
