So I have no realised (its taken me this long) to realise that I have been infected by a bug. The little infectious disease called the 'travel bug'. I have just spent the last 30 minutes quizzing my new travel friends about where to go next year, I have now concluded this will be either the Beaches in Figi/Bali, Yoga in India, Massage in Thailand, Tango in Argentina or New Zealand for general fun!
So back to today and we got a free breakfast in the hotel - toast and pancakes, yey! and then me and two of the girls headed out to the art gallery in Adelaide. I know check me out, I voluntarily went to an art gallery and it gets worse, after that I went to the Museum of South Australia...again voluntarily. Dont worry I am still judging each museum by the gift shop and coffee shop (art gallery had the better gift shop but we had lunch at the museum and it was lush). So they were both ok, a mix of Aboriginal artifacts and a bit of contemporary stuff.
After that we went to the wine exhibition and did some wine tasting. The exhibition was eerily quiet with no staff around but the displays were good. The wine tasting was good too, a good experience with the big glasses of wine with a drop in each and then smelling it, swirling it and judging it. Then a little piece of bread dipped in oil to try the next. It was really nice way to end the day of culture we were having!
To get back to the city we went through the botanical gardens which were beautiful, the different smells made the garden really different and we stumbled across a rose garden within it which had every different shade of pink rose you could possibly imagine. I really liked it in there and again they smelt lovely!!
All day we could hear this road race that was going on and when we left the gardens we could still hear it going on so we wandered towards the noise and stumbled across a gate which we could see the cars whizzing by and we found out it was a V8 supercars race so we watched the race from a distance (for free, it was $88 dollars, about 50 quid to get in!). Then as we walked back towards the commerical bit we picked up all the free stuff for people coming out the race so we got free iced cofee, free beer in a bar, free stickers. It was great! It topped off a good free day! (all the enterances to the cultural events were free too!). That was when I realised that I had the travel bug.
So that tops off my trip in civilisation, now Im up off camping in the outback so I will email and blog whenever I can!
