PANDAS!!!!!!!
Nothing much more to say about Chengdu lol, saw lots of pandas, they were adorable, some of them were only 4 months old, and we got to see them eating and sleeping. That is all they do though. We went to the biggest environmental area in China for them, and they have the largest amount of Giant Pandas, also got to see red pandas which were nice but not as cute.
Helen and I went to pay 500 yuan to sit next to a giant panda and get our photo taken with it. The price seemed a bit extreme and I debated about it for a long time as we walked to the place it occurs, thinking that I could get nearly 100 meals for that price, however the decision was made for us, cause when we got there it was shut as it was sleep time for them. Saved 500 yuan, but no photo of me sitting next to them :(
Tried to book train tickets to get to Xi'an, however due to spring festival they were totally booked, execpt for hard seats, but we didn't fancy 22 hours on a seat (over night) so cheap flights, only 390yuan, so less than 40 pound.
Went to the LiShan Buddha the next next day, about 100 miles outside of Chengdu, was much much more impressive than the buddha we saw in Sanya, think cause it actually carved into the wall of the cliff and you can get right up to it. Also went to the Wenshu Monastery whilst in Chengdu, but like all temples we see in China, very red, blue and gold. However photos will hopefully be up soon, so you can judge for yourself.
Met some really nice people in our hostel, and stayed up drinking with them, whilst making our free dumplings. Lucky we didn't poison ourselves. Some one and some point decided it would be wise to pull an all nighter since we were getting picked up for our flight at 5.20, so still drinking at 2 am and we had to bail, sooooo tired. Made the ride to the airport a hassel and an exhausting one. Although safely made it to Xi'an and planning for the our time there.
