We arrived in the middle of a very heavy rainstorm. Got 'a bit' wet retreiveing 'the lady's' luggage from the boot of the taxi (she is telling me to stop complaining). Had a good time just generally looking around the city. A very interesting place - sort of a cross between Bangkok and Singapore. A lot of redevelopment of the 'old' city, so there is a real contrast of lifestyles everywhere. There is a huge hyper modern shopping centre in the city centre which seems to be the main draw for citizens and tourists alike. Did a couple of walks as described in the Lonely Planet guide book around Chinatown and Little India, but got completely lost on the Chinatown one. Met some people in Malaysia that said the exact same thing happened to them. It didn't help that we did the Chinatown walk in reverse, so we had to read the directions backwards. Why make life easy?!
Malaysian food is great. Had fun sampling the local restaurants - so much choice and all really good.
