Hello again, just thought i'd post a quick message to let you know what we're up to. After our death defying caving trip we drove up to a place called Pancake Rocks which we were told was amazing and we couldnt travel the West Coast without seeing it. They even looked good in the leaflet, loads of big weird rocks and blow holes shooting water into the air. However when we got there the tide was out and it just looked like a big pile of rocks, rubbish. We hung around for about 10 minutes to see if anything would happen, decided it was a waste of time so we drove down to Franz Josef which is in the heart of glacier country. The scenery was amazing, its just a shame that from the second we arrived to the second we left it bucketed down and it wasnt like wimpy englsih rain, this was the proper stuff. We drove up to the glacier but the weather was too bad to go onto the glacier itself. Anyway after spending a couple of days there we've now moved onto Fox Glacier which is half an hour down the road, its still pouring down but we've been promised sunshine tomorrow and we need it because we're doing an eight hour ice climbing trip on the glacier! I am looking forward to it so much, the plan is to get kitted up with all the cool stuff like crampons and ice axes and things like that then hike up the face of the glacier then we find suitable places we'll start climbing ice walls. I'm not sure that Gem is quite as excited but hopefully it will be brilliant. Fingers crossed she likes it cos if she doesn't and the weathers bad eight hours in cold, wet, freezing conditions might go very slowly! Our campervans still doing well and has managed to cope with the torrential rain pretty well, theres been a few leaks but they've been because i forgot to shut the windows once or twice, woops! Doesnt look like we'll be doing the skydive while we're here due to the really low cloud that wont disappear so we'll probably have to wait until we get down to Wannaka or Queenstown. Thats all for now, byebye x
