Hey everyone
Today was supermarket day.
We woke up late, but it would have been later if it hadn't been for the two boys in our room (smelly feet man and his friend) talking annoyingly loud when we were obviously still asleep. We took our time getting up and getting ready, and after some reading, emailing and lunch, finally stepped out into the cold and headed to the supermarket across town.
It was a long walk but it was to a "Pak'n Save" and they were as cheap as chips, so we thought it was worth the effort. We had to buy five days worth of food along with other bits and bobs such as suncream and shampoo, ready for our Fijian adventure, where supermarkets would be very few and far between. However, this meant our bill came to a total of $80 - the most we have ever spent in a supermarket, but at least we had a lot to show for it. We then had to carry all the food back to the hostel, and we could hardly feel our hands by the end of the walk.
We cooked a lovely Sheperds pie for dinner with gravy - how British. We thought we would head to an internet cafe and call our parents and as we hadn't spoken to them since Australia. After chatting to our families we headed back to the hostel.
That evening the traditional hostel fight continued of turning the light off and on, which hit a climax when smelly feet man turned on the light at half one and then on and off, as he noisily left and re-entered the room for an hour. People were not happy. Oh the joys of dorms... Xxx
