The flight went quickly. Although Chris didnt sleep again. Mary met us at the airport and after a bit of a rest at her house we went for a drive through London and then to Harrods for icecream. We had fish and chips for tea, Matt and Nicole were still sick. We had musical beds during the night. Next day we went into London on the tube and got off at Westminster station where we walked to the London eye, had several walks across Westminster bridge as Mary got her bearings! Then we got a boat and cruised up the river to the Tower of London. We had pizza, went throught the Tower and saw the crown jewels and the royal armoury. I also helped with the catapult display. We saw Traitors gate and the torture tower(bloody tower). After this we got back on the boat and went further down river to the Millenium dome (o2 theatre). Got home and had bolognaise, the kids had a water fight, I phoned Gillian and organized the next day. We had another unsettled night with sick kids.
The next day Mary dropped Connor at school and then took us out to Renes where Russell and Gillian took us to the Three white horses for lunch with Jack. Kids went for a ride on a canal boat through a loch. Nicole was still feeling very sick and slept on my knee most of the time. Russell took us to a chemist, we told us Nicole probably had swine flu, so we bought a thermometre to keep an eye on her temperature. Another restless night had by all.
For the last day in London we went to the science musuem to see a giant diplodicus and Apollo 10. There was a huge queue at the front door but Mary took us around to the back entrance where there was no queue at all! After lunch at the gourmet express(chinese) the kids and chris walked back through the park to try and see a squirrel while Mary and I went to Primark, a bit like glassons. They showed us Argos, which is a shop that you buy solely from catalogues! There were no squirrels in the park, so we went home, had tea and then Mary, Katie, Matt, Molly and I went to Westfield Mall for a look, it was huge! Matt bought a watch. Yet another restless night, and then would you believe my phone went off at 2am!
On the last morning we had a sleep in, the kids went down to the end of the street to get their photo taken with the armed guards. Mary dropped us at the airport Matt and Bex bought PSP and Nintendo games with their money from Grandad.
