The flight over was 12 and half hours, we all slept for about 4 hours except Chris who says Nicole woke him as soon as he got to sleep. Missed the first bus to our hotel so waited half an hour for the next one. HOT!
Got to our hotel (Anabella Hotel in Anaheim), at about 3pm. Spent the rest of the day at the pool while Chris went and bought some water bottles and food for the next day at Disneyland. We walked down to subway for tea and went to bed at about 8pm. Rebecca couldnt sleep so Chris and she changed beds and Bex and Sue read until 12.30am then slept finally.
Chris woke us up at 8am to get us cracking to go to Disneyland. We went to Tiffys (a little restaurant at the end of the road, very reasonable.) for breakfast. Sue had cereal at the motel instead, with no spoon, and out of a cup! From there we walked to Disneyland which was about 10mins.
Chris was very excited to be fulfilling his childhood dream! and Nicole was amazed that Disneyland was that old!
We had a great day with bobsled, log rides, train rides, rollercoasters, tree houses the sleeping beauty castle and the street parade. The submarine ride was great with nemo comentating. We saw Winnie the Pooh, Big Brother Bear, Donald Duck, Goofy, Alice in Wonderland and Daisy Duck all in the street parade. The kids bought momentos, a mini mouse doll, baby mini doll and a goofy hat. We managed to take our food for the day so our bags were a lot lighter by the end of the day as we went through a lot of water bottles! We left Disneyland at about 8.45pm and stopped at Tiffys on the way back for tea. I used the computer at the hotel for $7 for 24 hours.
We finally got to bed after seeing the fireworks on our walk home at about 11pm. Nicole got up in the middle of the night feeling unwell.
We had to be at the bus at Tiffys at 8.20am so we went there for breakfast again. Nicole was still not feeling well but she managed to eat half a pancake. Our bus took us to Gray Line Tours where we got our tickets and boarded another bus for Universal Studios. Our bus driver was particularly annoying, although he thought he was funny. Universal studios was great, we met Spongebob and the Simpsons. We saw a fantastic water show, creatures of the deep and Backdraft. The tour was very informative and entertaining with a bridge that blew up, a lake that parted, Desperate Housewives Street and an earthquake simulator. We saw Shrek 4D again. (had already seen it in Aussy), had a ride on the Simpsons new simulator ride, it was amazing!! But Matt hated it. The Jurassic park ride was cool with lots of spitting dinosaurs and some that were fighting over popcorn. Then of course there was the big 84 foot drop at the end where you get drenched. Matt wasnt keen on that either.
Near the end of the day we went out of Universal Studios and walked through City walk where we bought smoothies and took photos of a harley and a grid iron player. They were playing Michael Jackson music and selling lots of t-shirts and posters of him. His funeral was the day before. Our bus driver waited half an hour for a family that didnt show up then we were stuck in busy traffic. The kids all slept for about an hour on the way home and I dozed a bit of it, Chris of course was texting!! We finally got home very tired, changed and went to Tiffys for veges! They didnt really understand that. Home and in bed by 10pm.
Sue woke up at 7am the next morning and went for a walk, the streets around the motel were very pretty, neat and clean. There were hardly any people biking in LA. I got back to find that Nicole, Chris and Matt were not feeling well so I dished out the neurofen and went to the shop to get oranges. Matt and Chris went out for breakfast (funny how boys can still eat when they are feeling sick?), while the girls and Sue packed up, wrote postcards and filled in their diaries. Matt attempted to sketch the hotel, Nicole found a minnie mouse watch at the hotel shop and bought it with the money Grandad gave her for the trip. On the bus to the airport we were the only people on it!!! At the airport we emailed Jackie and Mary. Then off we go again.
