We were still half a sleep when we realized at 11:30 am we had to check out by 12 am to get our deposit back. Quickly we showered and packed our stuff.
We left our backpacks there and went to the grand palace. It was full of tourists and we would've had to pay 500 bath per person just to see the palace from the outside (later we read that you can't even go inside). So we spontaniously decided to visit Wat Pho instead where you can see the biggest laying buddha. It was huge and also the whole place. There were thousands of buddhas from ancient to newly made ones. It felt like it was only made for tourists. We can imagine if we would build an enourmous buddha we could make a lot of money too.
In the late afternoon we took our bus to Sukhothai. They told us it would take us 6 hours to get there. We left at 4 o'clock which means we would arrive at about 10 o'clock. They drove us to the busstation where we had to wait until 19:30 when our coach to Sukhothai left. At the busstation and on the coach there were only Thai-people. No one could really talk englisch, not even the "stewardess". It was freezing cold although we got a blanket and had one with us aswell. Also Chantal 's seat was broken so she had to lean back as far as the seat could and the woman behind her was a bit annoyed cause she had no legroom like that.
At around 1 am the coach stopped and the "stewardess" said something. We only understood "15 minutes" and assumed it was a break. We went to a really disgusting toilet and then wanted to go back on the bus. We started to panic cause when we got outside again our bus was gone... All we had with us was fiona's wallet. Chantal spotted someone that was on the coach with us. Another coach arrived with same destination written on it. We were really relieved and wanted to go on it. But then a random guy stopped us and told us that this was the wrong coach. This one was on the way back to Bangkok. He pointed to the petrolstation where we saw our coach.
At 3 in the morning we got "kicked out" of the coach in Sukhothai. Fiona hit her head while she took our backpacks out of the bottom of the coach. We were in the middle of nowhere and there were only a few tuktuk-drivers around. One showed us a guesthouse for 400 bath per night. We didn't really know where to go so we went with him. Although we arrived there at 3:30 am it still counted to the previous day and we had to pay for the full night.
