We had a couple of days in Puerto Varas before our overnight bus to Santiago. We visited a local market and a church which from afar looked stunning in red and white, up close it was wood and a corregated roof painted red. There was very little English spoken even in the tourist information. This became a bigger problem at the bus station where no English was spoken at all. We have now done the Lake Crossing from Bariloche in Argentina to Puerto Varas in Chile through the Andean Mountains and Lakes. We flew down to San carlos de Baraloche which is like a Swiss alpine resort with wooden chalets. It is located in the Andes mountain range. In our free day we take a bus up to Cathedral a ski village in season, from here we take the ski lift to the top of the mountain. We are on our way, at present in Buenos Aires, Argentina after a very good 15 hour flight, the upgrade to Premium Economy was well worth it. From the cold of UK we are now in 30 degrees beautiful sunshine.
