This was probably our most relaxed day in Italy yet, and it was nice to have a little break from the craziness! We woke up again at 8:00 am and grabbed a quick breakfast before heading to an orientation session on safety in Milan. Then we jumped on the bus and came back to Milan from Sirmione. Although I would've liked to enjoy the bus views of mountains and vineyards, I passed out from my exhaustion and woke up back in Milan! Luca (the head of the program) took us to the cafeteria of the school in Italy where we had lunch upon our return. The bathrooms were hilarious.. literally a hole in the floor that I was unsure of how I was supposed to navigate. Next we toured the Catholica University which was absolutely gorgeous. There were pretty greens that (superstitiously) you cannot cross until your graduation day, or you will not graduate at all! Also, the school contains ancient Roman ruins underneath, which they transformed into a classroom. It's really funny how it is not a museum or anything, just a simple classroom! The University also contained a "Garden of Virgins," which only girls were allowed to enter and hang out in.
We finally returned to our apartment for the first time, and Mia showed us how to get to the grocery store. It is very tiny, although the biggest in the area and the only one open 24 hours a day! We bought things to furnish the house, along with ingredients to cook dinner together. Mia showed us how to cook a delicious pasta meal with meat sauce, along with a zucchini quiche..so yummy!! We were so tired that we just organized all of our stuff before going to bed for our first class tomorrow morning! Goodnight!
