Susan and Robin I am so sad your NZ blog is coming to an end. I have loved reading all about your adventures both good and bad. Hopefully you will try to continue the blog with the rest of your journey. Think of us poor folk who still have snow on our cars in the morning and the A9 closed for blizzards during the week!

kirsty Lesley and Roy you have done NZ proud! Easter Island beckons for you while Timaru is awaiting our arrival tomorrow (Friday). Great to see you both in September and then again in February Lesley. Kiz jetted off to Buenos Aires today - great excitement though at 6.30am most of the girls just wanted to curl up in the bus and sleep the trip to Auckland airport! We shall of course keep up to date with your whereabouts and wish you safe travels back to Edinburgh in May. Love Kirsty x

Avril Glad the sand flies are not as ferocious as the Knoydart midges. However the locals might have been impressed with the headgear.

Rebecca Roberts Hi Lesley & Roy, It was great meeting you in Twizel, and many thanks for your teaching Lesley. My phone for some reason didn't save your email address hence this message! When you get to Dunedin, the following places are worth a look. 1) Saturday Farmers Market (8am to 12:30 every Saturday, opposite the Train station). Also look for the pleasant bakery within the train station. 2) Otago Museum (includes live exotic butterfly exhibition) 3) Otago Peninsula (especially the albatross colony) 4) Port Chambers 5) Botanic Gardens and Avery 6) St Clairs beach - if possible try to go at low tide Places to eat: 1. Two Chefs - European $$$ 2. Jitzu - Japanese $ (but excellent quality) 3. Saigon Van - Vietnamese $$ 4. The Good Earth Cafe 5. The Good Oil Cafe 6. AllPress (does great upmarket toasted sandwiches) I hope this is helpful. Have a great and safe trip.
