We all woke up today aching with sore muscles from yesterdays walk! Still amazed that we did it.
With the soreness of our bodies and the crappy weather (rain and plenty of clouds), we decided to take the sensible or should I say the lazy option of a short two hour, 4km hike, Chorrillo del Salto, instead of our originally planned six hour hike. Probably a good idea considering Reens and Devs are injured.
With the rain and dense clouds, El Chalten looked completely different. The stunning view of the Andes and Fitz Roy were not to be seen.
Hobbling along on a relatively flat hike we were greatest with a pretty waterfall at the end of the trail, where Reens finally got to have some fresh glacier water to drink! Me on the otherhand passed, it's not about getting ill.
Our bus back to El Calafate is not till 6pm so for a change we have a much needed couple hours to chill out.
Free time in mine and Tanna's eyes = dessert, cake and ice cream hunt! Reens and Devs have know us both for ages yet are still amazed how much sweet stuff we eat, we don't have one scoop ice-cream like normal people we go for three! (Feel ashamed as I'm writing this). Were staying in the smallest town ever yet we still manage to hunt a gelato place, if only you saw the smile in mine and Tanna's face! With our tummys content our walk back to the Rancho Grande hostel turned into a run as we saw our coach drive pass us! Anyone care to explain where 4 hours went?? Whenever we have all the time in the world, in the last 5 minutes all you see is 4 chicas rushing around, we never learn!
3 hour bus journey back to El Calafate where we will be reunited with our backpacks!
