In the morning, not to early :) we visited the Galleria dell'Accademia which is where the original "David" by Michael Angelo is exhibited, while I am not afan of sculpture this is truly a piece that stands apart. We then travelled to Palazzo Vecchio which is where the "David" was originally displayed. On a tip from our Michael we traveled on down to the river for a really pleasant surprise. There is a bridge which over the years has had shop after shop constructed and now is the central market for all Gold and Jewellery sales, a fascinating place and one that Amanda really took here time appreciating :)
Latter in the afternoon we trekked across the river to Piazza and Pallazzo Pitti. The bland external structure which Amanda said reminded her some what of Flinders Street Station, really did not provide a fitting entrance to the gardens and treasures assembled behind by the Medeachi Family. Truly worth 3 to 4 hours. As usual as the sun set (5pm) on our travel back to the motel the town was coming to life with Markets, Buskers, Restaurants, and Carnival rides all kicking into high gear. A great feel !
