We left Florence at 9:30am on a 40 minute trip ( High speed train ) to Bologna. This is the same train we will get to Venice in a couple of days. We walked 3 to 4kms across town dragging our bags along the way, even though it was a flat track, I am not sure we will make that same choice again. Given that our room was not ready we took a stroll down to the central city Piazza. Piazza Maggiore had about 100 stands selling chocolates and various sweets, Amanda had found heaven :)
We continued down through the Market district along Via Orefici, V.Caprarie, and via Clavature, which was filled with every conceivable type of produce (Meat, Fish, Breads, Fruit, Vegetables, etc), all of which was of extremely high quality.
We were recommended a Deli / Restaurant called Tamburini within the bounds of the market, it was fabulous, truly Italian and a feel that I do not think could be replicated in Australia. (Eg. Deli / Coles Cafeteria / University bar).
The motel is good and again close to the action which is great because our feet are starting to feel the pinch.
