Chiang Mai (Day 57 - 60)
We've finally made it outside of Loas.
Chiang Mai is a city that doesn't feel closed or claustrophobic it has quite a nice feel to it, though at first it reminded Chris of being in tenerife - a strip full of westerners, western restaurants.
We've spent a couple of days shopping, unfortunate for Chris. They have a night Market everyday and since we arrived at the weekend they shut off a couple of streets and turn then into a walking Market! I loved it! So much to see, so much to buy, I didn't know where to look... Chris though was the first to make a purchase... A Pepsi t-shirt to let everyone know of his addiction!! :)
We been to see lots of temples too, we've realised how desensitised we've come to them. We still think they are beautiful but are not as impressed as when we started travelling. The Temples here are much more extravagant then in Loas and I find them too bling bling. We have come across a couple that are in their original state which are much more impressive.
We went to Chiang Mai zoo for my birthday! It was very good, they have lots of animals there including some pandas! We then went to pizza hut for dinner which was a western luxury for us!
Off to sukhathai tomorrow to see lots of ruins
Much Love x
