Day 1
25th July 2013
So I start my travels again, this time it's Thailand. A whirlwind tour starting in Bangkok and then heading up north for a few days then down south to the beaches. This trip I'm traveling with Tracey from my trip last year and Bond who is our CEO again.
I get up at 3am for my morning coffee, cigarette and shower. Then load the car before leaving at 4am to go and pick Tracey up from Swindon. I find myself excited but also a little sad as I won't get to see Sharon for nearly 3 weeks.
The journey to Swindon is fairly good apart from the wet roads, looks like the good weather is going just at the right time when I'm jetting off. The journey to Swindon takes about and hour and 40 minutes and its not long before we are on the road again.
Down the M4 and then down the A34 to Overton to my sisters. Now because I'm not used to going to Overton from this direction I managed to miss the turn off and we had to continue all the down to the A303, ooooops. Once on the A303 we head towards Overton and I manage to come off at the wrong junction again and now have to go down the little back roads to Laverstock and then onto Overton. Pick big sister up and then off to Heathrow terminal 4 for our flight to Kaula Lumper. On the M25 and as we approach our junction Tracey starts saying you need to be I'm the inside lane your going to miss the turning again! Bloody back seat women drivers lol . At the airport we check in and after trying to blag first class and failing totally we head out side so I can have one last cigarette and phone Sharon and Tracey can call her boyfriend, mum and sister. We go through security and as we go through a women says to us "drink" I say no thank you and carry on walking the realise she was checking that we didn't have and drinks in our bags. Oh well never mind. We decide on breakfast at a very classy place place called "Bridges" do you think they give discount for family lol. I order a latte and Tracey orders an orange juice and we both have the full English. My coffee arrives and I drop a sugar cube in and due to there being so much froth on it, it takes forever to go down and Tracey videos the next one on her phone and we find it takes 20 seconds for each cube to sink. After breakfast we do a bit of shopping before heading to our departure gate and getting our first glimpse of the air bus 380. It is huge but the wings look really short compared to the body of the plane. We both make a phone calls to our respective better halfs before boring what I thought was a 7 hour flight. It turns out that the flight will be over 11 hours. We have good seats by the emergency exit so plenty of leg room and settle down for the flight.
