Greetings from Bangkok!
Arrived at lunch time yesterday (local time) and got to the hotel around 3pm. We had a meeting at 6pm that evening so we had a kip inbetween. Before we fell asleep it was sunny and boiling, when we woke up it was pissin it down!
Had a meeting with our tour guide which was just a short introduction before eating in the hotel. 1 starter, 2 main meals and 2 drinks cost around 9 quid! Tidy!
We started today on a boat trip along the river which was good, but it rained and we got soaked. I couldn't see either due to my glasses steaming up! Along the way we fed some huge catfish and saw a monitor lizard casually having a swim along side our boat. After the wet boat ride we went to Wat Pho (a load of buddist temples) which was good but once you have seen 1 you have seen them all! Apparently there are over 30,000 temples in Thailand. I reckon within the first 2 hours of today I have seen about 600. We then went to the Grand Palace (see picture), but had to cut it short as we were hungry!
A comfortable ride on Tuk Tuk was the easiest was to get back to the hotel, also the cheapest. Except for walking! We ate on the same street to which our hotel is on and is renound for backpackers. In fact its hard to see a Thai person.
Later today we are getting the overnight train to Chaing Mai so my body is going into system shut down. (with help from imodium!)
Thats all for now folks.
Kawp Khun Krap (Thank you in Thai) - I Think.
p.s Happy Anniversary Ma & Pa!
