Hey, well been in the land of Oz for 3 months now and so far no blog!!!! Guess it only now feels like im travelling- so Sydney in short. First arrived there and wasnt so keen, it felt like any other city but i gradually grew to totally love the place. The first day i headed straight to the opera house on my own, id met a few other girls but they were going to the beach- despite being so unbearably jet lagged i needed to do something to feel like i was in Sydney, and it was stunning. The only tyhing that did strike me though was the fact the house is kinda more yellow than white! Ive stopped seeing that now, but i did for a while. The next day i met up with Laura at the Opera house which was a bit surreal, we then wen to Darling harbour and had lunch (mouldy roll for me...) and went to the imax. Id joined a group called Oz intro so had started to meet people that id be spending the following week with, this meant that the first weekend was mainly spent at various bars, the most memorable being the Sunday night- day before Oz intro, when we went to the palace and then back to the hostel where the AFL guys were staying and having a huge party, this led to the police turning up on several occasions, but was such a good night. Finished of with ball games on the beach at 3am.... So Oz intro week! Amazing. Monday- spend seeing the city, botancial gardens, house and a jet boat around the harbour which was scary and sooo much fun! That night was a "bonding" meal at the palace, tues was spent doing the boring stuff which was acyually ok. bank stuff, medicare and aquarium which was really nothing special at all! That night was the start of many messy nights at the Gaff, picked up in a party bus where we heard many songs that would become our theme tunes for the week, there was dancing on the bars, shots everywhere- was ace! The next day not so ace- surfing with a huuuuge hangover! Didnt think id be that good though but turns out i can just about, kinda stand up on a board! Who would've thought? Thursa was a really nice day, trip to Bondi beach, then a walk back to Coogee, stopping on the way for bbq, beers and volleyball. Was a boiling hot day and just really nice. Friday, was in a way my favourite day- went to the blue mountains. Climbing mountains, lots of stairs and amazing views!!!! Loved it. Smelt like eucalyptus! Saturday was chikll out day, but was actually spend traipsing around Paddys market trying to find lifeguard costumes for that nights pub crawl. It was the messiest night so far, all dressed up, taken around soo many bars that to be honest i cant remember that well and finished in the gaff again! Sunday night was a lovely night. We went to the Sydney tower for a meal, it was nice, it rotated which resulted in the loss of a handbag (for a few mins- tables rtotate window sill doesn't) tried kangaroo, got to see the whole city at night, was amazing. We then had a few goodbyes, before being taken to Mrs Macqueries point where we went on our first day. It was all rather emotional! The next day we were all of to start our adventures....in theory.
