So, welcome to my blog! Well, actually, welcome to my site. Here's where I'll be updating photos and writing blogs. Maybe I'll even throw in a few videos as well! Anyways, I'm still in Seattle, but I thought I'd use this first blog as a sort of FAQ/introduction. So here we go:

Where are you going?

I'll be in Nanjing at Nanjing University.

Where is Nanjing?

Nanjing is located inland on the Yangtze River. It's about 2 hours west of Shanghai by train. It's south of Beijing, and located towards the middle of the country, North/South wise.

How big is Nanjing?

Nanjing has a population of 7.4 million, according to a 2007 census. In terms of China, Nanjing is a major city, but not considered a large city. It is a very culturally important city, however. Nanjing has been China's capital at several times throughout its history, and as such has a lot of museums and cultural sites.

What will you be studying?

Chinese language. Mandarin. And yes, they speak Mandarin in Nanjing.

Where will you be staying?

I'll be staying with a family. Hopefully. I don't know any of the details. Stay tuned for that blog entry!

Will you have internet/running water/AC?

I will have internet at my school, but probably not at my house. I'll have my own room and running water, but chances are good I wont have AC.
