Oh wait, its not about Visby!
Apparently it was too windy to run a tender service so we spent a day at sea and would dock at the Danish island of Bornholm tomorrow instead.
So annoyed. I did months of reading about Visby, this was one of the true highlights of the trip. We were a kilometer offshore and we stopped and were waiting there for 30 minutes. Clearly something was up. Then the captains voice came over the PA letting us know it was unsafe to run a tender service because of the choppy seas.
It had never crossed my mind that a daytrip could be cancelled because of rough seas. Really had that kick in the guts feeling.
Sat out on deck in the strong winds looking at Visby and then watched us sail away.
The rest of the day was very meh. I went to the gym, did way too much on the bike and the upper body equipment, did so much I couldn't sleep on my left side for days afterwards. But I had to vent so the gym did the trick.
Sat around the bar, had dinner and went to our room by 9:30pm. Discovered that I didnt like days at sea. Felt trapped on board the boat. Our reason for doing a trip this way isn't to spend time on the boat itself, its all about the convenience of getting to places while only having to unpack once.
Today was frustrating but cant be helped and you learn and move on.
One day we have to get to Visby.
