Hey friends!
Its another exciting day at the office! I still have no project, but I am working on it. Current volunteers tell me that one of the hardest thing about serving in the peace corps is finding out what the heck I am supposed to do here! Which is proving to be a bit difficult. But my socio (community partner) is back in town tomorrow, so I am going to talk with her on Monday. Because I am really ready to get projects started and get some work done! I have just made lots of peanut butter so far, been to Ica to pick up things I need for the house, like a dresser for my clothes, and I bought a new bike!! That was great. I bike to another volunteer´s site to help out with her work as well.
I was sick this past week. My family decided to pass the egg. Which means they rub a raw egg all over my body to soak up all of the bad things, like sicknesses. So that was interesting. Then they crack it open, raw, in a glass of water. And if there are any white strings of yolk floating to the top, then that means there were bad things (I dont even know what) in my body, and now the egg has it. Of course, we dont eat the egg. At least it was just an egg and not a live cuy (guinea pig) which they usually rub over your body in the sierra. I dont know if I could keep a straight face during that.
Its christmas time soon, and I am really starting to miss the states. No snow, no tree, no christmas movies. So if anyone wants to send me a card, you know where to find me. (its in my address section of this website)
Happy travels,
Teigan
