Hello!
So were on the 3rd attempt of writing this blog as the free Mcdonalds wifi is really pap. HumphAnyway - we left Lakes entrance yesterday morning - Claire got breathalised again(I didn't want to mention it but she looks like she is letting herself go . . . Glug glug you know what I mean. . .) So after that little pit stop we drove toward Wallhala.
Claire drove up till lunch time when we stopped to swap drivers and have a quick lunch at the side of the road.I drove the last 40k to the little gold mining town which was more like the italian job! 1000ft drops rock falls and crazy turns! We made it there in the nick of time though as they only do one tour a day of the Gold mine. We really enjoyed the tour - its surprising that it took us only 3 minuites to walk the tunnel that tllk nearly 3 years to dig. The mine was once the bigest in Australia, now its basically a collection of collonial wooden buildings next to a big pile of rock!
Claire drove us back down the hills watching out for passing wombats on the way and onto Melbourne. We made it back to the car hire place with seconds to go - driving in the city was difficult, claire was having trouble with the directions and I was having issues with the right hand turns - apparently you move into the left hand lane and sit in the middle of the road, then tentatively cross 4 lanes of traffic and 2 tram lines if you want to make a right - mental!!
Thankfully we dropped the car off and met some lovely chatty people on the tram who helped us sort out the tram and find our hostel.
The hostel is nice and clean but we do have a crazy in our room - I don't know if she drank too much or has a crack problem or needs to pee a lot (or all of the above) but she was in and out of the room every 15 mins all night. Claire didn't notice but I didn't get a very restfull nights sleep.
Today we went to the Australian Museum of the Moving image - it shows the history of tv film and games. Basically we spent 4 hours playing old nintendo games! Then we went on a little walking tour, courtesy of the lap top - through the cbd, china town and the beautifull shopping arcades. Now we are having a mcflurry and attempting to blog. Hopefully we will formulate a plan for the evening soon.

Steve Taylor I thought the only moving image for an Aussie bloke was moving right arm and lifting can of Fosters....
