Hi guys we have 30 minutes before we need to catch a bus so no photos today, sorry.
We had another good week with the elephants. This time we had two new people with us - Claire and Gemma. Claire and Claire could share experiences on rubbish backs so they had a lot in common.
We got to ride the elephants again, although the flood waters have gone down a lot here so we went to the river this time instead of just a flooded feild.
We had a go with the local farming equipment - the widow truck!!! A push along plow that was mental. The locals make it look easy but its really heavy, shakes like a b***** and turns on a five pence piece. My rows were not as straight as they should have been.
We had a thai bbq, which was awesome. Its basically a bucket bbq with a giant lemon juicer on top. The lump is used to grill the meat and the bowl round the edge to boil the veg and pork balls. Yum!
When we got back to Surin we were invited to the river festival that night and we floated out banana tree prayer decorations onto the lake. We also saw the end of the miss Surin competition. We didn't know what they were saying but we guessed it had something to do with world peace and puppies. There dresses were very sparkly and traditional looking. We ate lots of weird food, but passed on the bugs.
Today we get a coach to cambodia where we will meet Mr Win, apparently the boarder is his thing... Then on to Siem Reap which is our base to explore Angkor Wat.
Will puts some photos on and blog when we get there.
Bye
Team P
