Hi guys next update.
Since our last blog we spent Wednesday visiting the hong kong history museum and the science museum. The history museum was full of the usual neanderthal man and bits of pottery. There was also a big section on the opium wars and from then to the present day which was good for our world history as Claire and I didn't know a lot about this.
The science was a lot more touchy. We got to play with lots of toys to do with hearing, telephones, motion, light, etc. It was like a big kids playground.
After that we went to the avenue of stars - where there are lots of stars on the floor from chinese movies, we knew about four of them. From there we went for a wander round kowloon afterwards and had pasta for tea (a big thing as we haven't had pasta in months)
The next day we went to Aberdeen and stanley, two parts of Hong Kong on the southern side of the island. It was amazing seeing the difference - there are still high rise buildings but a lot fewer and yuo get a more seaside feel. Aberdeen has Jumbo Kingdom, a floating imperial palace restaurant. If you see Contagion at the cinema it is the one where gwyneth paltrow gets sick - we didn't eat there but it looked nice.
After that we went to stanley market - a big market on the sea front selling the usual touristy stuff. It was ok but no where near as big as mong kok.
That night we met up with Sam Wong (from UHL) who took us to the local bar district it was heaving with westerners and reminded me a bit of a night out in Maidstone. But that aside it was good to chat to Sam and we saw pictures of his baby. He is now working seven days a week four Earnst and young, so it sounds like he is doing well. But he does live in a tiny box and is now going to the gym.
Yesterday was our five year wedding anniversary so I got up early to plan the days activities - all of which failed. We were going to get claire some new clothes from M&S and visit a dog cafe (petting dogs not eating). However M&S is the size of a postage stamp and doesn't sell summer clothes and the dog cafe is shut. So after wandering around we decided to sack of the day and go to watch contagion at the cinema. On a plus side we did find a really nice thai and sushi restaurant afterwards for dinner. So the day ended well.
Today we have checked out of our hotel (see the picture you can see three of the four walls (I'm standing with my back to the forth). Tonight we fly to Vietnam.
See you in narm

Steve Taylor Always wondered if there is such a thing as a dress code in a thai restaurant? Many congratulations on your 5th anniversary x
