Welcome to Isreal
3rd Day
By: Anna Cline :D
The currency of Israel is Shekel/Sheqel.They have coins that are like cents, they are called argots. They come in 5, 10, 50 argots. They have more coins called shekels; they come in 1, 5, or 10 shekels. Their bills are called notes, and they call the notes shekel notes. The value of the notes comes in 20, 50, 100, or 200 shekels. 200 shekel notes are not easily traded, so a lot of people do not like to carry them. You can get this money at a ATM or a bank. The Hapoalim, the Leumi, the Discount Bank, FIBI, and the Hamizrahi are some major banks in Israel.
