Day 1- Today was my first day in Indonesia. I stayed at the Novotel Hotel, in Bogor, for $83.00, it's a five star hotel. Indonesian currency in called Rupiah. $83.00 converted into rupiah is 742,272 rupiah. US dollars have an $ symbol. Indonesian dollars do not have a sign. Bogor is a city on the island of Java, Indonesia. After getting to the hotel, I went out to see the city. I traveled by an Angkot. The population is 949,000. It's one of the largest cities in Indonesia. Then, I headed out to Mount Gede, one of the five national parks in Indonesia. After that, I went to get some lunch. I go to the 'Rumah Makan Sahabat', famous for it's great noodles. Rainfall is normal here, and it looks like it will pour any minute. Bogor's epithet is Kota Hujan meaning "The City Of Rain." I run down to the nearest store, Botani Square, and buy an umbrella, just in case. And, just in time too, It started pouring the second I walked out! I went back to my hotel and got ready for my next day of adventure!
