As we approached the Port of Abraao all we could see for miles is lush green rainforest and sandy white beaches. On the boat journey over to Ilha Grande we got talking to Antonio the Italian Stalion, Vicky from Leeds and two Chilean Chica's, whom we enjoyed spending the next 4 days with. When we got to the hostel we were lucky enough to be given the best room in the house, with a massive balcony overlooking the ocean. Early the next morning we set off on a hike across the island to an idilac beach, little did we know it was going to take over 6hrs round trip, luckly we'd prepared our tasty pack lunch, cheese and ham rolls.... again!! Always looking after the pennies that evening the 6 of us chipped in for a meal together for Antonio to rustle up an Italian Delight of Tuna Pasta and also enough limes, sugar and cassacu to mix caipirinha cocktails for the next 3 nights (Easton found a new talent). We spent the following day on a boat trip around the island stopping off at the Green Laguna and underwater caves...tan coming along nicely now. After a morning of hand washing our clothes (yes in a bucket) we left them to dry off on the balcany and headed off into the rainforest in search of the waterfalls. Still learning everyday... do not walk through the rainforest in flip flops as there are snakes...poisonous ones!! I have never seen Easton run so fast, better man up before he goes to Australia next year. Lovely chilled last evening at the islands Reggae Party, in preparation for our 21hrs bus journey to Iguassu Falls.
