Happy Cinco de Mayo!!! Today was unexpectedly wonderful. I thought of this as a driving day, but I feel a great peace here. Our drive through the 'backbone of Cali' I learned from Sam about tumbleweeds, and we stopped at Mono Lake a very salty lake that seems to be on a limited time. Stopped at the Bridgeport Inn for some Mexican -an ode to Cinco de Mayo.
Jim who runs this small Inn gave us a route to take the bikes, a lonely road by the county jail with cow grates, an old railroad stop, and half a dozen or so jack rabbits bouncing by.
Sam scoped out a fantastique bistro for dinner, called the Still Life, which provided great decor and food. So unexpected. And now...I'm on the porch with wine and a perfect view of the Super Moon tonight. I sampled a strawberry, in the small garden right outside our room door. The trip is already a feast for my eyes and my tummy...speaking of which... it's on to the glitz of Vegas tomorrow, but for tonight a serene setting.
Nighty night xox
Ps. A small yoga studio in this town even has a sign that reads, 'Peace Above Else'. I agree.
