Hey Guys and Gals...
So i left Adelaide (loved that city) Sunday 6am and got on another Adventure Tour Bus with our guide called Lawrence who was Fantastic! The group was great, a real mix of yanks, frogs, krauts and Brits, oh and Kazu from Japan! we had a great laugh over the next 3 days!
Firstly after a 3 hour drive we got to the Grampian Mountain Range which was beautiful if in need of a little watering - hadnt rained for years in some parts! The 2km hike was good fun even in the heat! Then we made our way to Mackenzie Falls which was breathtaking and refreshing to get sprayed at the bottom. It was also the first green grass and trees we'd seen all day! That night we stayed in a little place called Brambuk in the heart of Aborigine land in SA/Victoria border. There was alot of driving that day but what was to follow made it all worth while...
Day 2 started with us going to an Aborigine Cultural Center in Brambuk to learn about the people of the land etc! pretty interesting but we all wanted to hit the GOR! We stopped off in Warrnambool for lunch..Subway!! you Beauty!
We made it to the GOR in the pm and firstly stopped at the Bay of Islands (the pic above). The coastline was rugged and powerful but the weather was superb so we were really lucky with our pics! We stopped at all the places such as london bridge, the Blowhole and Thundercave before getting to the 12 Apostles. We drove past them then i got a Helicopter ride for $60 to fly over them and take more pics - super experience!
We stayed in princetown that night - 20 of us turning up trebled the population, but we got some beers and had a bbq and a laugh! We went back down to the coast for a sunset and penguin watch, but as you can see from my pics the weather had turned so no sunset because of clouds and then the penguins were miles away from us and my flash setting was wrong hence the crap photos of them...oops!
Day 3 we had a group photo at Loch Arg where many a ship has crashed blah blah before we went inland to otway treetop walk which was cool! Not that im big on my trees, but i was impressed - the environmentalist in me appeared at times!
We had fish and chips at Apollo Bay - Barrundi for me please anytime - Beautiful! We then stopped at Sausage Valley (dayo you are a Jockey) for some real close snaps of wild koalas...shock horror 1 of the cuddly b******s actually moved!
We stopped at Bells Beach (big famous surfing beach) and then some retail outlets for cheapish surf stuff in Torquay (no not in devon) before we got to Melbourne at 8pm! way to soon really because the trip had been awesome - such a laugh - id recommend it to anyone and would love to do it again!
Enjoy the Pics
