Quito for a day and a half and we,re figuiring it all out - sort of.
Travel- getting here went very well. Bernd showed no signs of anxiety and Lukas loved the adventure. We commented before we landed that if we turned around and went home now we´d be happy as we´d already had great experiences.
Bernd and I each had our moments of reassurance that going to Ecuador would be OK- for him it was meeting Ecuador,s one and only professional triathlete in the airport- she was on her way home from a race in the US. For me it was meeting a Quito woman in the waiting area- so friendly and kind and bubbly. These omens have boded well so far.
Arriving tired and spaced out from the long trip and cusoms-immigration line ups we were met with big hugs from our homestay mom. Lukas wasn,t so sure about the 'rustic' nature of our new home but I told him it would all feel better in the morning- and it did.
I will post this now as the school is closing. I had finished a long entry yesterday and the internet died and I lost it all.
To be continued.!
