ok. it may be our last day in Kuala Lumpur, depending on whether or not we can book a bus to the east coast. Yesterday we walked about town and took the monorail to the Petronas Towers (were the highest skyscrapers in the world until Taipei built something taller in 2004). Needless to say, they are huge. So this morning we woke up at 6:30 am to get tickets to walk across the skybridge that connects the two towers, and unfortunately it was closed.
But we did get some great photos that will be updated at a later date.
our hostel is great but in all honesty, KL is pretty filthy. the streets are hectic and there are people begging to massage you everywhere.
we went to the night market in Chinatown last night, which was nuts. John got some new trainers for about $30 US. we got a couple of other things as well.
so we are planning to go acroos to the east and take a boat to an island called Pulau Redang. Apparently it has amazing diving and beautiful beaches, always a favorite. so hopefully we will be there for a few days and then back down to KL.
We have also decided to fly to Jakarta from Malaysia, instead of travelling through Sumatra. Simply because there is a lot of chaos just now due to the earthquake last week. so we should be in Jakarta at the end of this week, but only for a night and then its out of there.
