Summer in Santiago is absolutely beautiful and has given me the chance to finally appreciate this city (or maybe it's partly that it's becoming more familiar to me now and starting to feel like home). The weather reminds me of childhood summers in Adelaide. Over 30 degrees C every day, with no rain now for over two weeks. I love hot, summer days so I'm definitely going to miss this about Santiago when I leave. Melbourne summers aren't quite the same (although I am missing Moonlight Cinema!) Somehow the nights here are still cool enough to sleep, but only just! There are plenty of parks around the inner-city close to where I live so I'm enjoying wandering through them most days, and then wandering the streets to discover new parts of Santiago (have some time on my hands now since uni doesn't start back until March). There's plenty of alfresco dining or drinking of coffees, beer, pisco sours and moquitos. Wish you were all here to enjoy it with me!
