After Pisa, we headed too the beautiful small coastal region of the Cinque Terre, which I can say was where I was probably lost excited about going too!! It's practically 7 little villages accessible by train with little colorful hillside towns and what not! Incredible! Me and my friend Umy got lost from the little group we were in, but thAts what made it more interesting because we found all these little paths and streets leading all over the place! We were meant to be able to reach about 3 stops but we got lost exploring in the first and only made it to 2, but I found the most beautiful sunset ever in a little town called vernezza! We had to be back on the train at a certain time so we then made ourselves unlost and headed back to get ready for New Years!
Italian New Years! HOLY COWWWW! What an amazing experience! You leave the hotel and all the time you hear mini explosions like shot guns going off from the fireworks. Our tour guide Yani bought about 50 fireworks that we were just letting off as we talked down the steer. We headed to a square of La Spezia, the town we were staying in where there was a concert but went around for a drink to a little pub around the corner before a whole alley way was turned into a dance party! This DJ was playing and no one was dancing. But 1130 about 300 people were down this small street dancing and letting off fireworks and it was incredible! The best NY ever! Being the youngest on contiki tonight I realised how much of a safe environment it really is because even though there were sleezy drunk Italians everywhere the guys all looked out for us by making walls between us and all the scary people! A brawl did break out in the end and the guys got everyone out quick and by the time I got to bed it was 3am! But it was the best New Years EVERRR!!
