Tasha's Travels
Second day in Taupo- we were all feeling a bit delicate and tired from our night out, so we headed out to town for a late breakfast and a mooch. About an hour later we were bored- Taupo isn't really jumping- its tiny, it over looks the lake which is very pretty, but there isn't endles options for entertainment!
At 2pm, two of our group decided to do a bungy jump- 49m jump, so the rest of us headed down to cheer them on and watch. I honestly don't know how people do it, they have to shuffle forward with their legs strapped and then just plummet......... then bounce and plummet again! I have heard lots of people say they would never do one and then get here and end up doing one, and i thought i would be one of those because i'm quite up for most of these activities, but watching them jump yesterday i know i would have to be pushed before i could do!! No way!!
After the bungy we headed to a natural hot spring which was in the middle of this park, and the water was so hot and steaming, and there lots of pummis rocks where you could sit like in arm chairs and chill out!
We all had a mass cook up of spag bol last night which was very civilized and lots of fun sitting together- although we got gate crashed by some wasted footballers who had lost their game and were drowing their sorrows- but one of them used to work at the Tiki Tour place as a Maori warrior doing the songs and the hacker!! We had to say farewell to LJ as well as we have a new driver tomorrow taking us to Queenstown- Ba Ba.
Think we'll be out for drinks tonight, then heading off to River Valley tomorrow where i'm hoping to do a horse trek!
Hope everyone is enjoying the weather at home- i'm so jealous of the heat, we all have thermals on here!!! bring on Thailand beaches!!!
sending you lots of love
