first day in san jose ,
well to say the least this is insane, it felt like forever to get here but i am here in san jose costa rica, flight from montreal to miami international airport was 3h and 20 miin, beside me sat a older quebec man who wanted to talk, so why not, he was telling me how he decided to retire in costa rica and was trying to give me tips on where to go and what to see, very nice, landing in miami, i realized this airport is hugeeee, to go and have a smoke i needed to take the sky train to another stop and go outside, there i met a nice lady named sonia, she was from montreal originally and had moved to jackson ville florida, we decided to have lunch togethr since we both needed to kill time. after we talked for awhile, we parted ways, she got on her flight and i still had 2 hours to wait, all in all the flight went well,. landed in san jose at 3 40 there time. anxious about if my transfer from interbus was going to show and where was another thing, i walked outside and theres maybe 50 taxi drivers asking if you need a cab, plitley i said no gracias. and they left me alone, another man asked what i needed, i just kept saying interbus shuttle for me, and so he yelled to a friend and told me to come with him and found the dude with my name on a banner, happy to see him, we went to a van where 4 other people , friends i assume who all spoke spanish were in the van as well. after they got dropped off my driver dropped me off at tranquillo hostel , ive read alot of reviews and it seems they have a problem with bed bugs, and the reviews were from june 2011, so i said forget and walked down the street looking for another hotel that was open or hostel, somewhere where i wont worry about bed bugs, found a run down looking place that said hotel kekoldi, so i gave it a try, 50 bucks later i got a room with a tv, friendly staff, and showers, and its right across from tranquillos where my morning pick up will be , i needed food and since this is my first solo trip in a foreign county, i was a bit apprehensive, but i asked the front and he told me where to walk and i asked if its safe , he said you will be ok, so i walked and found a hole in the wall restaurant, if i would have walked 2 more seconds there was a nice bar there and a nice resto across the street, oh well. this cute spanish lady gave me a menu and helped me choose, i had pollo and beans and rice, it was very good, and a coca cola, for 5 dollars. gave her a tip and walked back to the hotel as its starting to get dark outside, so now im in the hotel and so far so good, tomorrow morning pick up at 7 50 to monterverde, where i think will be much different than san jose,
