Tom & Jo's Excellent Adventure
Back to Bali for the last time before heading on to Darwin in Oz. We tried to make the most of our last days and spent 2 of them in a little village called Padangbai. We hired another scooter and did a bit of a tour of the east side of Bali. The area is famous for it's rice terraces ( a bit like Sapa if you've looked at our photos) and really is a beautiful drive - and the roads are quiet which is a bonus. The kids are great fun and a few want to pose for their picture - when you show it to them after they get really excited! Nothing like Vietnam when they demand money off you! We've also spent 2 days in Ubud, the cultural centre of Bali, where we tried to buy some wooden carved masks but couldn't find any we liked. We did buy a hammock each though which is much more comfy to sleep in! Just seen a traditional Kecak dance performance, also known as the Monkey Chant Dance, which was really good. They have an advert here for an energy drink called Extra Jos with Christiano Ronaldo to keepie uppies with the Kecak dancers all round him. Means nothing to anyone but it's how we found out about the dance. We've now done our last minute shopping back in Kuta and grabbed some stupidly good bargains at a Billabong sale. 50 quid for about 400 quids worth back home!!! Jo's got her new bikinis now and i've got some boardies! Final DVD tally 64 and 12 CDs. I think we are now ready to leave Asia although i think we'll both miss it really and without a doubt we'll come back in the not too distant future - maybe on the way home. For those that are keeping up with us thanks for enjoying the adventure with us, and see you in Australia!!!!!!!!!!
