A free day today! Was hoping that the rain would stay away - in the morning it did.

Decided to explore Paihia today. Had breakfast before heading out. I was contemplating whether to take my coat or not as it was warm outside. Ended up taking it with me and I'm glad I did!

Walked over to Waitangi and decided to go for a walk to the waterfalls. It was 5k each way so ended up walking 10k which was nice. But it poured with rain halfway through! So I was very glad I had my coat on! Didn't rain for long though thankfully.

Headed to the Waitangi Treaty House which explained about the past of New Zealand which was pretty interesting. Had some lunch there before exploring. Saw Maori fishing villages, carved boats, houses and so on.

The sun came out so I walked all the way back to Paihia by the coast. Had a little look around, there isn't a lot to see really, it's just a nice little seaside town.

Relaxed for a bit before having dinner with the group, it's our last evening together. Had fish and chips - a great final dinner!
