Woke up to find it absolutely pouring with rain outside and Nelson is the sunniest region in New Zealand! Well not for us :( It meant the stunt plane was cancelled, so disappointed! The weather has been pretty good apart from the two activities I was meant to do, typical. Never mind, at least it saves me a lot of money!
So I decided to walk into town instead, it was still raining a bit so wasn't too bad. Noticed the waves were massive and crashing onto the barriers. Bumped into a man who warned me that I'd get very wet. Decided to just carry on anyway, didn't want to be stuck inside all day. Decided to be clever and wait until a wave had crashed into a barrier and run for it and so on. Was successful so far, didn't get wet. A car started slowing down next to me. I ignored it at first but it was still there so I looked and two women asked if I'd like a lift. Who was I to turn the offer down?! They were lovely and were heading towards the city centre anyway so they dropped me off there.
It started to brighten up a bit which was good timing. Looked around and bought some light trousers for Thailand. Nothing else to do so I checked out the museum which was fairly interesting. Something to pass the time before the long walk back! Grabbed some lunch and then decided to go to the cinema and see if they had any good films out. Bumped into some people who were going to watch Jump Street 22. It had no subtitles so I wasn't going to watch that. Found a French film, Volcano, that had English subtitles so decided to watch that. It was a good film, it was funny, so I enjoyed it.
Walked all the way back to the hotel, it took over an hour! The sun was out and no waves crashing this time so it was all okay :D
Did my washing when I got back, badly needed! Soooo much to do.
Had a BBQ in the evening which was lovely. Played lots of different games after which were absolutely hilarious so it was a fun night.
