It was so lovely to have a quiet relaxed day and the drizzly grey weather in London made it that much easier to enjoy. I started the day slowly and pottered around for a bit before setting myself up with my laptop on a stool at the high kitchen table. I set about updating the class lists for dog club with intermittent chats with Kelly between her work meetings - she had many today.
Later in the morning we wondered up to Sainsbury's in the drizzle and bought some food for lunch. The supermarket is so convenient being only a couple of minutes' walk away.
After lunch I packed up ensuring I had everything in my suitcase and backpack. Then I headed off in the light drizzle to North Sheen Station located just behind Sainsbury's. I stopped in at the supermarket to pick up some ingredients for dinner and a big bottle of water. London tap water still isn't great and I found myself not quite drinking enough because I didn't like the taste, so bottled water it is.
There are soooo many trains. I was grateful for the National Rail website to help my plan how to get to Three Bridges. One train from North Sheen to Clapham Junction, change platforms and another train to Three Bridges (one station after Gatwick) took me about 1hr 20min. From the station I walked about 15minutes to Clare and Rigby's home. Rigby is Corali's brother and they offered me to stay at their home so I could be close to Gatwick for my flight tomorrow, even though they are away. I am so disappointed to have not been able to catch up with them, Clare, Rigby and their daughter Lyra are such beautiful people.
Their home is welcoming and a good size with a backyard for Lyra and the two dogs - Nova and Sikes. It was lovely to have some doggy time, although Sikes was a little intense initially, he did settle after Crispin took him for a walk after he had finished work.
After dinner sitting on the couch Nova came up and sat on my lap, which I very much enjoyed.
Clare had left me some lovely items on the bed for me - some chocolate, lotion and footcare. So very generous. I spent the evening watching/listening to a tv show while I drew a little thank you note using Zentangle patterns. I meant to take a photo but forgot, oh well. I left the thank you note with my little gift of Tim Tams, along with a bag of gifts from Corali on the dresser.
