To all,
Well what can i say we have had a very unforgettable 3 nights here in Singpore and can't wait to leave!
To begin with we tried to get a bus to the city which took us 2 hours and two buses to get there! This should have taken a lot less time! The drivers and locals were soo unhelpful and looked at us like aliens you would think they had never seen 2 english backpacking girls before! Finally made it to the shops down Orchard Street wow if you have the money its massive, Sj you would have been in heaven! They also had Topshop, Miss S, DP and my favourite River Island i was made up!
We visited Raffles too however Emma was not allowed in with her thongs/Jangals/flip flops what ever you want to call them on so we couldn't go in for a cocktail! Never mind we were way too scruffy anyway!
After this we took the cable car across to Sentosa a man made island, it was soo scary the car stopped half way across at the highest point we thought our lives were over but luckily it started up again! Had a lovely time watchin the "Songs of the sea" show then returned to our hotel. On the way back we saw a massive rat running down the street, i thought it was supposed to be clean over here i was mortified to see this!
The next day we went on the bus which was easier today to the Zoo and to do the night safari this was good however in the dark night of the safari me and em were joined by a random man following us around the whole time it made us feel very uncomfortable! This could only happen to us! We went back and lost him then treated ourselves to a Ben and Jerrys ice cream that was the best! Em is into ice cream now she has spent time with me she never ate much before cant believe it! Anyway got back to hotel, earlier on we had been told to leave our key so that our room could be cleaned we didnt really want to with all our stuff in but hey we did and the thought of clean towels and sheets was a bonus! What could go wrong we asked oursleves
WELL we got back to our room so tired, wanting a chamomile tea and sleep, to a bed that had not been made covered in black hairs (yes that type!) and my white towel was also, along with black dirt we were mortified again! What had happened! Rushed down to reception where we witnessed old men and young women entering and exiting the hotel and passing cash over. We knew then that our room had been used for other peoples pleasure whilst we were out with all of our belongings in we nearly cried disgusting! What was this hotel we were staying in recommended by our operator which must have been located in a red light district only this could happen to us! Anyway they cleaned our room free of charge as if we were gonna be made to pay for this! We went back up to our rooms and phoned our mums! As this was going on we then began to realise why the cleaners were around cleaing rooms 24/7 not just at one time! The room opposite was cleaned then two people (an older man and a young women) went in for half an hour then left the room, it got cleaned again then another couple went in we just couldn't believe what we were seeing through the spyhole on the door!!!! It may have well been Orchard Towers (look it up if you dont know what it is! You shouldn't) we are soo gonna complain about this and maybe even go to the press! "Travel company send 2 english backpackers to well i dont know what the word is to describe the shennanigans of this situation to be honest for once i am speechless"!...................................................
Roll on Thailand goodness knows what it may bring, then home to Malton where i know whats what or at least i think i do home sweet home! My own room and bed!! And Em back to boro wohoo!!
Speak soon Xx
