To all,
Well what can i say i think me and Emma have just had two of the most amazing weeks in Australia to date.
Firstly we went on a 2 night 3 day sailing trip to the Whitsunday Islands on the Boomerang boat, at first the thought of sleeping on a boat made us feel sick but we couldn't have been more wrong. We visited Whitehaven Beach and sunbathed in Hill Inlet, then went snorkelling again in little secluded bays although i have to admit this wasn't as clear as the Great Barrier Reef but still nice then the next day sailed all the way back to the marine and no joke the boat was at 80 degree angle and we got soaked but was lots of fun. Along with this on a night time we had a few drinks on the deck of the boat watching the sunset both nights and then gazed at the stars there were so many of them as the sky was soo clear. Overall an amazing trip with lots of fantastic food and great people to experience this with.
After a long 12 hour overnight bus ride we arrived back into Hervey Bay where we ventured on our 4x4 self drive jeep safari to Fraser Island, yes i drove and loved it. Here we explored the 75 mile stretch of beach and sand island this was again an unforgettable trip. The first night we camped at the beach where we joined by a dingo trying to eat our mince for tea, we then awoke to sun rise at the beach breathtaking. The second night we stayed at an Aboriginal camp site. Following our night under the stars we were quite looking forward to a proper toilet rather than sand and a spade and nice showers however there was only the one shower and toilet and a massive saucepan sized huntsman spider living in there too and a carpet snake living under the block this is where we totally started to freak out. We then went to our room for the night a Rotunda where we shared with 24 other people! We had a nice BBQ then again watched the sunset and were then visited by the indigenous people who put on a dance for us. We soon forgot about the spiders and snakes! Ha! We also visited Indian Head, Lake McKenzie where i may add a dingo pinched a full bag of chocolate chip cookies we were all devastated and Lake Wabby an island full of true beauty.
Although the trip threw challenges at us regading nature including snakes, spiders, goannas and Dingoes it really was an adventure we will never forget both this and the Whitsunday boat trip!
We are now in Brisbane where we are spending 3 nights, tomorrow we are visting the Koala Sanctuary then flying out to Bali on Tuesday night. We are both very very sad to be leaving Australia and we will miss it lots and all the lovely and amazing places we have seen and explored but other places are calling us now!
Take care and will try to update this blog along the way. Sorry i had problems with the pictures so you will have to check them out on Sarah's facebook page. Ask Craig at work if you haven't got access please. Thanks Craig!!
Take care love Sarah and Emma Xx
