It was beach day today!! We were really looking forward to going to Santa Monica, it's the one place that all the locals we've spoken to tell us to go. It wasn't far from where we are staying, maybe a 1/2 an hour drive.
We put the navigator on and off we went - much better today, no sweaty palms, could relax a little more and only slight chatter was accepted from the back!!
When we got there the beach was busy, there were people every where! There was an area on the sand that had gymnastic apparatus like rings, parallel bars, and tight rope walking. It was awesome, anyone could have a go. There were people that were super good at it ... Then there was us!! All the kids had a go at walking the tight rope, so did Chris, Jo and Pierre - I didn't have a try - I knew I couldn't keep my balance and wasn't into proving it to everyone!!
The kids then climbed this rope that was super high - Mia and Jezelle didn't get a look in, but the boys did really well! They nearly got right to the top!!
We continued walking along the board walk and went on to the pier. There were rides, market and food stalls and people every where!! It was an awesome atmosphere to be in.
The kids wanted to have a swim so I took Mia, Luca and Jacob to the water. They mucked around for an hour or so, as we were getting ready to go back to the car, Mia was going to throw a shell at Luca. As the shell left her hand we could see it was headed for some Mexican lady, and bang, got her straight in the chest. Luca and Jacob immediately went into hysterics, Mia panicked and kept apologising to thus lady - there was no forgiveness in return, she just gave us this look of horror and disgust! At this point I had to turn around and piss myself!!! It was hilarious, poor woman!
As we walked back to the car I was amazed at how confident some American ladies were - there were all sorts here. I would have to say wearing butt showing bikini bottoms is the in thing here, problem is, when your butt is super huge (I'm talking Retrabusha huge) then to me, it's not the best look. This dark lady walked passed us and wow! She was alllllll woman!!! Chris and I were too scared to turn back and take a photo just so you can see what it was like. I told Chris that I'm going to weary bathers with pride, just like these ladies - they don't care how much butt is showing! Jacob was loving it! Every second he was like "Look, ass, ass, ass!!"
On the way home we went to Burbank Mall and had dinner at a Greek restaurant ... Even though there was nothing Greek about it! It was more Middle Eastern, we asked the owners what their back ground was and they told us they were Armenian. We had Falafel, Tabouli, boba ghanoush and fries! It was awesome!!
It was a great day!!
