Day 14
Bonjour from Paris
Well we have arrived safely in Paris after driving across the UK via Windsor. Where we arrived just in time to see the changing of the guard. We continued on, stopping to have a look at the Thames and the pretty gardens in this part of the country.
Dropped off the car and were driven back to the Ashford International Train Station by the car hire company.
We waited for check in and went through French immigration-our first touch with French.
The train arrived on time and we easily found our seats. It was only 10 minutes into the trip and we started under the English Channel tunnel. About 20 minutes through the tunnel and we were in France. A quick trip through the French countryside and we arrived in Paris.
Busyness all around and people everywhere. The taxi was too expensive so we decided to walk to our accommodation, which was a bit of an eye opener as we are staying close to the red light district, just down the street from the Moulin Rouge.
We arrived safe and found our apartment which has a seperate bedroom and kitchenette. The shops were still open after 10pm. We got some dinner, did some washing and went to bed. Ready for tomorrows adventure.
Bon nuit.
