Trip to Phi Phi Islands 6-7.3.2011
We took a ferryboat from Phuket harbour towards Phi Phi Don, where we stayed in a bungalow in long beach. I've allways wanted to sleep in a bungalow so that was it; no aircon, no hot (or even clear, more likely orange) water, alot of mosquitos, gekkos and frogs.. but still.. it was a paradice for the price of 850baht (boat+acommodation) wich is about 20euros.
On the day of arriving we climbed the stairs to Phi Phi Hill resort. At the top you could look at the most beautiful view of long beach, shark point and in the horizon there was laying Phi Phi Ley with Maya Bay, famous from the movie called "the Beach". We had a nice thai-dinner in the view-restaurant to get energy for snorkling trip to the Shark Point. I had my brand new pink snorkles and we swimmed about 10minutes from the beach front.. and there we were.. surrounded by sea-stars, coralls, little Nemos and of course sharks! First I was terrified, but when I realised that I was actually bigger than the shark, there was nothing to worry. It was beautiful! The water was so clear that when I was looking trough my mask I felt like I was actually swimming inside of a diamond. The sand at the beach was pure white and the fishes had so many neon colours in them.
The beachpeople had alot of guided trips for snorkeling, but why would you pay 800-2000baht to sit in a fancy boat when you saw sharks for free just by swimming to them? I had my own snorkles, but they rented fins and mask for 50b/a day. After two hours burning ourselves in the water we ordered huge fruitshakes and relaxed in a reggae bar with pure fresh mojitos. The sun started to set around six o'clock and we were definetly in the right place to watch it. Comforting and happy hawaiian-style music was playing in the bar, there was firedancers, people with joy and burned cheeks and the sun colored the beach into shades of pink and orange.

The next morning I woke up in a bungalow sweating, full of mosquito-bites and shaking from all of the mojitos we had had. The sun was just rising to a cloudless sky and it was going to be a perfect day for a boat trip!
We packed our bags, checked-out and ate a huge breakfast with porridges, fruitplates, eggs, toasts and coffees. We took a private Long Tail Boat for three hours (45e for for people, so about 10e each) and went to see monkey beach, Maya Bay, Viking Cave and Pileh Lagoon were we fed fishes with pineapple. My camera shut down from the lack of batteries, but luckily we had three cameras and we took total more than 200pictures! There was so many things to see we forgot to put sun lotion wich got paid back the next day when we used a bottle of Aloe Vera.
